New addition

Mom decided it was time to start looking for a new addition. She would only adopt if it felt right. It must have felt right because we have a new addition to the family!

Meet Fluffy! Mom thinks Fluffy needs a new name. She asked friends on facebook for some suggestions and got some good ones. She wants to wait a little bit and see what name appeals to or fits Fluffy. Mom adopted her last week. She's had a bit of a tough time adjusting. She was surrendered to a local animal shelter when her human passed away a little over a week ago. When mom met her at the shelter she was so sweet but as soon as she got new kitty home, she darted under the bed and stayed there for the most part except to venture out occasionally to use the kitty box and nibble on a bit of food. Yesterday morning she jumped up on mom's bed and demanded to be pet. That was at 3 a.m. so mom was probably grumpy yesterday (and today too since kitty did it again last night! MOL!).  As mom was getting ready for work yesterday morning kitty made a brief appearance out of the bedroom to boop noses with Mosby (no hissing from either kitty) and then returned back under the bed. That's great progress! Mom knows to let kitty take her time adjusting and exploring to her new home. After all, Mia and Mosby were the same way when they first joined the family

So, what would be a good name for this pretty girl? She's approximately 4 years old. Suggestions???

Thanks pals!

Love, Angel CJ

Meowing Diva

Mom says Mia is driving her crazy. She thinks Mia misses me since I have gone OTRB. She wanders around the house meowing in the middle of the night. This is new for Mia. She has never done this before. She certainly didn't do it when I was around. Mom says she is sniffing my beds. (I had some favorite things such as beds that Mia never really took a liking too and mom hasn't gotten rid of.) She's not really playing much either although mom did get her to play a little with the wand toy recently.

Mia the Diva

I have to admit that I never really was buddies with Mia even though she tried to be my buddy. (I was buddies with Cosmo and never really adjusted to Mia whom mom adopted 2 years after losing Cosmo in the fire). It sounds like Mia misses me. What's mom to do? I don't know if mom is ready to adopt a new kitty yet but maybe it would be good for Mia if she did? Is Mia just being a Diva now that she has the house to herself? Or is she ready for a new brofur or sisfur?  Looking out for mom and Mia from the Rainbow Bridge is hard!

Featured Waif

Mom has a new love and his name is Aiden. Isn't he a handsome kitty?!? Mom sure thinks so!

He is a 3 year old domestic medium hair mix. Mom doesn't know much about him since she just met him at Wayside Waifs yesterday but she fell in love with him! Of course she can't love any kitty as much as she loves me but... Aiden has certainly gotten her smitten. Good thing we are at our limit of kitty's in our home or she just might adopt him! Since mom can't adopt him she hopes some nice family comes in soon and chooses Aiden to become their fur-kid.

He is such a sweetie. Mom spent about 30 minutes with him yesterday. She likes to volunteer on the holiday's the best because the shelter is closed to the public and volunteers have the animals pretty much to themselves. Although some people might think the animals get lonely on the holidays, rest assured many volunteers and staff visit and play with all the animals! They get plenty of treats, petting, playtime and quiet time. Anyhoo... back to Aiden. He loved the attention he got from mom. He wanted to be pet and brushed and even played a little but petting was the best. He couldn't get enough head scritches. Mom sure hopes he finds his forever home soon! I bet he will! He's been available for adoption for just a few days as he only came to wayside last week.

Mom, what do you mean she's staying???

Mom made it official and adopted Mia from Wayside Waifs today. I can't believe the brat's staying! She sits in my window, eats my food, drinks my water and goes out on to the deck with me. What does a kitteh gotta do to have some alone time? Well mom I hope you're happy. Glad Mia bit you today! Can you take her back now???

Weekly Featured Waif

Meet Calissa, this weeks featured Waif mom wants to tell you about.

Calissa is approximately a year and a half. She came to Wayside on 9/16/13 and has been available for adoption since 10/7/13. She is shy and startles easily so I quiet home might be best for her. Don't be fooled by her shy demeanor though, she is a very sweet kitty and loves to be pet! She climbed right out of her kennel in to moms lap! Uh oh... I might be in trouble, mom loves lap kitties and I haven't wanted to be a lap kitty since the fire. I snuggle next to mom though and she seems to be content with that but I have a feeling she might want a lap kitty again. Brofur Cosmo was a lap kitty. I think mom misses Cosmo. :(

Ok, back to kitty Calissa. Her feline-ality test says she is a private investigator which makes since with her shy demeanor. She has been spayed and is up to date on her vaccinations. She is available for adoption for a low fee of $50. Come meet this sweet girl at Wayside Waifs this weekend!
