Happy Birthday to this pretty girl who is now 9! She's been part of the family for a few years now. Here are some of mom's favorite pics of Mia since adopting her from Wayside Waifs in November 2013. She's mellowed out even with Mosby kitty now in the home. Why couldn't she be a mellow kitty when I was there? Sheesh! At least Mosby chases her around now and then!
Mia kitty could use some purr-ayers though. She has Feline Ocular Herpesvirus (more commonly called FHV-1). Most of the time it doesn't bother her but she is currently having another flare up. Her right eye is red and looks downright terrible. (Mom didn't include a picture because it looks really bad and she'd rather share cute pics of Mia for her birthday!). Currently mom is putting antibiotic drops in Mia's eye which seems to be helping but Mia isn't exactly an easy kitty to medicate like I was. Once the antibiotic is done mom is hoping to provide Mia with a natural product that might help keep her immune system strong to hopefully reduce flare ups. Do any of my kitty friends have suggestions for mom? She wants Mia to live a healthy and happy life so any recommendations are welcome! Thanks pals! Love, Angel CJ

Happy birthday, Mia! I'm sending purrs for your FHV-1 flare-up. My human wishes she had suggestions for your human... but we are all pretty easy to treat for any issues we might have.
Happy Birthday to Mia! She's such a pretty girl. We hope her eye feels better soon. Unfortunately we don't have any experience with this so we have no treatment suggestions. We hope someone else might.
Happy Birthday darling beautiful girl. I hope this med that you have right now will make that trouble go away and that someone with experience can help point you in the right direction. The Tabbies did and I am hoping for the best for Mia in the near furry. Angel CJ...it makes mom and I so happy to hear from you sweet boy. Miss you and love you.
Purrayers and birthday wishes to beautiful Mia. Lysine is what I have used on herpes virus cats - not in their eyes, but in a toothpastey kind of thing. There's some debate whether it workd, but it is not that expensive. I think there are pills too - have Mom check with the vet ! Purrs !

ReplyDeleteThere are Lysine treats too.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Mia doesn't like treats. Weird right? Moms going to try Lysine powder. Hope it helps!

ReplyDeleteI would ask, maybe on the Cats with Blogs group in case someone has any suggestions for the virus thingy.
